April

I am delighted to report that it has all gone very well, we have picked fresh veg all winter and I am ready to get going again for this year.
March was busy in turning over the used squares and putting in lots of manure and organic matter. Some squares have had peat added.

Cabbages
These have done very well. One cabbage per square foot.

Netting on top to stop the birds having first helpings! Our current veg.

Everlasting Cauliflowers still to show their worth. They are about the size of a walnut at the moment. Spring greens just planted. Wire mesh to protect from the birds.

A tiered arrangement
Baskets filled with pansies and tulips.

The tulips a gift from Silvana, a dear friend,
Thanks Silvana they have done so well, a real picture on the patio. Will show the picture in flower soon I hope.

Sooty on guard to keep the wild birds of the veg!
The paving slabs are ideal for all those dog lovers out there who like to garden with their best friend.

This bed has a mixture of Carrots, 4 varieties of lettuce,
Spring cabbage, cauliflower, (4 under the polythene to bring on before the rest) The wire mesh seems to bring the plants on quicker too acting as a wind break.

My nitrogen supply and the daffodils all in bloom.
